Belated birthday for Grandpa Chad!

When I was little, my Dad knew everything :-) I used to just ask him questions. Question after question after question and he never seemed to get tired of it. He had the answers to everything! I used to get in arguments with other kids at school about whose dad knew more :-) Well naturally mine did! HE got a National Geographic every month and read it cover-to-cover! So obviously he knew everything about everything :-)
He taught me how to chase storms, wax a car, and jump in puddles :-) He turned  69 on January 5th and tonight we had a birthday party for him :-) Sarah baked the cake and Michael made the frosting :-) Completely by themselves I might add, so proud. We ate junk food and watched The Green Hornet , the 1970's version with Bruce Lee. My dad used to listen to The Green Hornet radio show before tv :-)
I definitely could not do this Sophia thing without both of my parents living close :-) I'm so grateful to my dad for helping me out on sometimes what seems like a daily basis. Happy birthday Grandpa Chad!

The kids with Dad :-) Sophie slept through the whole party, naturally ;-)

Jason came home from out of town late tonight. That must've been the reason for her late nap, so she could stay up for her dad ;-) She missed him ;-)

Getting Out

Sophia is still healthy! She smiles about once a minute when she's awake...sometime's more ;-) She's the happiest kid ever! We are going on short little outings every day. We stay close to home. It's so nice to get outside. Funny how you can get high on such a little thing. Life is good right now!

Sarah tickling Sophia and taking the picture while I kiss her ;-)

Some things I'll miss

That's just the way of things. Max's first day of primary. I missed it. I cried a little for missing it. But I got this cute picture and he told me all about it as SOON as he got home. He LOVED it :-)

Eternal Families

Jason and I had the honor of attending a sealing today. Our good friends the Lindhardts' have adopted two adorable foster kids. Today they were sealed in the temple for time and all eternity. In our church we believe in eternal families. Watching an eternal family made, right before our eyes, was a humbling and deeply spiritual experience.

For Jason and I, knowing that our family can be eternal, makes all the difference in raising Sophia. It gives us comfort and hope in this situation.

I'm so very grateful to Sophia's nurse and my Mom for watching the kids. Couldn't have shared in this experience without their help. Thank you so much guys.

Throwback Sophie...about 4months old...

This is why :-) :-) :-)

Sophia is so happy when she is not sick! She never cries about anything ever. She only smiles :-) THIS is why I have been belaboring the topic of keeping Sophia safe :-) Everyday should be like these days!
